On Friday, September 30, middle school ended their quarter with a bang. It was our all-day Friday Fun Day. (Shout out to all the parent volunteers who helped us pull it off!) Students were treated to a day of games and competition, that ultimately helped decide the quarter winner in our House championship. We will have a winner each quarter, and then an overall winner for the entire year. We also welcomed the 5th and 6th graders from Harding lower school for the day. These students were sorted in to Houses for the day, and competed alongside middle schoolers on inflatables, in capture the flag, and some small group activities. After a delicious pizza lunch in the middle school courtyard, Grit 'n' Grind House was announced as the winner of the day's activities, while Church House was announced as the first quarter overall winner. After House competition, middle schoolers and their new lower school friends moved in to the Auditorium to watch upper school's Homecoming festivities, including video, banner, skit, and CUP. These will all be fun activities for these middle schoolers once they reach upper school. At the end of the day, we waved goodbye to our lower school friends, though we are sure we'll be seeing a lot more of them soon. Over fall break, our House points counter will reset to zero as the second quarter of competition starts. Church House will be treated to a special reward early in the second quarter, as a prize for their first quarter performance. Here's wishing all of the Harding middle school family a restful fall break, and wishing good luck to all of the Houses this next quarter. |
