On Friday, February 3rd the middle school welcomed back Friday Fun Days for the first time in second semester. Our first Fun Day this semester was snowed out, but on Friday, we celebrated our winter sports teams. We cheered on our three basketball teams as they prepared to open tournament play the following weekend. We also honored our middle school swimmer Michelle M., who unfortunately was home sick. In a hilarious round of Human Hungry Hungry Hippos, Wells House took home first with a dominant performance from Peter D., Joshua D., and Caleb A. In a giant game of Knockout, Malik Y. took home first for River House. Thornton M. also won an event for River House in a scooter race. Rendezvous House won the final competition, a relay involving some hilarious clothing and props from the theatre department. In the end, despite not winning first in a single event, Grit 'n' Grind House won the Pep Rally, courtesy of winning the spirit award and taking 2nd in almost every event. We had a lot of fun and got to encourage our winter sports teams.

Also this weekend, Harding theatre department performed Sister Act, the winter musical. The middle school was well-represented in the show. It was an enjoyable show - bravo to all involved.

Finally, as the quarter churns onward, we draw ever closer to the seventh grade class trip to New Orleans. This past week there was a parent and chaperone meeting. If you were unable to attend the meeting, please reach out to Ms. Murphy for more information. Before the end of February, we will have a student meeting during homeroom to discuss rules and other relevant policies.
