News and Notes

We only have four weeks left until 8th graders go to Washington DC! The quarter and the school year will be over before we know it. We encourage all of our students to finish strong, and not allow any slides the final few weeks. For many, exemptions from semester exams could be on the line. Each teacher determines their own exemption policies, so students will need to check their syllabi to find out if their teachers exempts, and what their specific requirements may be.

2017-2018 class trips are changing. We posted a few weeks ago that beginning next year, the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade trips will all the same week. This will allow our students to miss less class time (students often miss instructional time when their teachers go on class trips with a different grade). Furthermore, the trips will be in the fall, meaning the wonderful bonding that occurs because of class trips and be accelerated. We are happy to announce that we know have the dates. Although the trips will leave on staggered dates because each trip is a different length of time, all three trips will be gone during the week of October 22-28. We hope to send home more specific information, including trip-specific dates,  cost information, and payment deadlines before school lets out for summer. Thank you for your patience as we work out the logistical details.
