Welcome Back!

We just finished a pretty fantastic first week of middle school. On Monday, we hosted new student and parent orientation. On Tuesday, middle students met their Houses, our primary unit of organization in middle school. These Houses compete for points all year, with prizes throughout the year for the winning House.  Throughout Tuesday, the Houses rotated through panels to help them in their year at Cherry Road, practicing submitting digital submissions on iPads, familiarizing themselves with rules and the House system, and playing some fun games. On Wednesday and Thursday, we finally got to meet all of our classes in our block schedule. Then, today, on Friday we ended a great week with our first Friday Fun Day of the year. Houses competed in escape rooms. Rendezvous House started out the year with the win, launching them into first place in our House standings. It was a great week and we're excited for next week! Next week, we start off with Meet the Teacher Night on Monday Night. There is an information fair from 6:00-6:30, including information from our Parent's Club, Booster Club, and Valley Food services. Starting at 6:30, you'll be working your way through your student's schedule, learning about how each classroom is structured, meeting teachers, and learning how we can work together to help your child succeed. We hope to see you there! Finally, class trip commitment forms were due today. If for any reason you forgot to submit one, please let us know ASAP so that your child can still have a spot. We had a great week getting to know our students better, and we can't wait to see what this year brings!
