We've had a wonderful first week back from fall break, and the cooler weather is finally here! We've seen our fall sports seasons end in middle school, and most basketball team tryouts were this past week, so it will be gymnasium season before you know it. This week, all of our middle schoolers will be heading out on their class trips. We covet your prayers while we are spread across the region, with 6th grade traveling to St. Louis, 7th to New Orleans, and 8th to Washington D.C. Because of the trips and all of our staff being gone as chaperones, the middle school office will be closed Wednesday-Friday this week. We look forward to these fun and educational experiences for our students. The trips always help build camaraderie while also helping us expand our horizons. A big thank you to Mrs. Dawn Gilreath and Mrs. Jessica Holland for organizing these massive projects, as well as Mr. Corey Cunningham, Ms. Amy Murphy, and Ms. Sheronda Holmes for leading the 8th, 7th, and 6th grade trips respectively. Finally, this past Friday our honors math students were able to compete at the Engineering Day (E-day) competition at the University of Memphis. They had spent significant class time preparing for various engineering inspired challenges. It was a great day with lots of fun and great exposure to a wonderful engineering program. Check out our pictures in the gallery on this site (some were pretty severely compressed from Mrs. Hawley's phone to the website, so if you see a pic of your kid that is blurry but want a copy, Mrs. Hawley may be able to provide the full resolution version.) And a big thanks to Mrs. Hawley for running this field trip. Good bye for now, and we hope to be sharing exciting news from multiple trips in our next post! |
